Introduction

Welcome to Bhavan’s Vidyashram

BHAVAN’S VIDYASHRAM is a full- fledged Senior Secondary School under the management of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Ramanattukara Kendra. It is affiliated to the CBSE (Affiliation number : 930465). The School commenced on 2nd July 2001 with its name Bhavan’s Vidyashram as suggested by late Padmabhushan S. Ramakrishnaji, the then Executive Secretary and Director General of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. The school was upgraded to Senior Secondary level in 2006. The School is having fully equipped and advanced Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Computer Labs and all infrastructural facilities.

Bhavan’s Vidyashram conducts classes from Std.I to Std. XII. It is presenting 8th batch of students for AISSE and 6nd batch for AISSCE during 2013 -2014 academic year. At present 949 students are studying in 26 classes. This school is established at Palakkal Hill an ideal location with calm, serene and pollution- free atmosphere of scenic beauty about 18 KM away from Calicut city near the NH-17.

Within a brief span of 10 years of its inception, Bhavan’s Vidyashram has been accepted as an “Institution of Excellence” mainly based on its academic performance in the CBSE examinations. We have systematic programmes of co–curricular activities and value education also.Bhavan’s Founder Dr. K.M. Munshi said: “Education would fail ignominiously in its objective, if it manufactured only a robot and called him an economic man accenting the adjective ‘economic’ and forgetting the substantive ‘man’. A University cannot afford to ignore the cultural aspects of education, whatever studies it specialises in. Science is a means, not an end, whereas culture is an end in itself. Even though you may ultimately become a scientist, a doctor, or an engineer, you must, while in college, absorb fundamental values which will make you a man of culture. An engineer has not merely to build bridges; he has to be a devoted husband, a kind father, a friendly neighbour, a dutiful citizen, and a man true to himself. He will have trials and tribulations; his heart will fail him at times; he will then need the strength which true culture alone can give.” At Vidyashram, we strive hard for the holistic development of children founded in the values and heritage of our great nation. Although, the School is in its growing stage, it is self-sufficient in every aspect including infrastructural facilities. It functions from Monday to Friday between 9.00Am to 4.10Pm with Saturdays specially planned as “Sarga Sapthami” to promote artistic talents.

The world order is changing very fast. Our ancient ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is widely accepted by the world, even though not in the true and proper sense. Due to the Liberalization and opening up of the world community, opportunities are now more linked with excellence than it was ever before. So our children shall be equipped for the open worldwide competition for which they are destined. Our academic planning is motivated by this vision. The parents shall also realize the matter and co-operate with us without which our ambition will remain fruitless proportionate to their non-realization.

As stated above, the younger generation is lucky for the opening up of unlimited opportunities worldwide. But fittest only can survive and grow to prosperity! Parents knowing this reality shall affectionately inspire and encourage their children and do true justice to them.

Our institution is a self-financing non-government organization. So the costs of services are invariably to be born by beneficiaries. Therefore, we are unable to provide education free or on concession rates. If concessions are to be provided, invariably it must be compensated by some other source or it has to be contributed by way of cross subsidy. Parents are requested to conceive the idea that education is the most important wealth and investment – Vidya dhanam Sarvadhanal Pradhanam. Education is the most precious investment the parents can make for the everlasting welfare of their beloved children. And if it do not excel, it may turn non-productive. Hence qualitative superiority of education becomes very important.
